£47,000 per annum

This is an exciting role and opportunity to become part of our expanding IT Services Team in a fast-paced and diverse environment. As the server engineer you will work in a third line team of four on a range of equipment and support the 1st line team of 5 technicians with escalations related to the server infrastructure.
What will you be doing?
Installing new hardware and coming up with design solutions for new requirements or to improve \ update existing systems. This will cover windows server 2016 and above, Dell rack servers, Synology NAS storage and VMware and Hyper V.
You will also be carrying out “business as usual” functions such as backups and monitoring and working with the team generally to improve resilience and security.
As the successful candidate you will:
- Ideally have Microsoft Server certifications
- Ideally have a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role with good trouble shooting skills, technical knowledge and a service driven attitude
- Have strong knowledge with IT trouble shooting (hardware and software) and experience with Server 2016, 2019 & 2022.
- Have proven experience of resolving complex problems.
- Have good communication skills, the ability to work under pressure either in a team or independently.
- Be able to work flexibly, there will be a requirement to work on some or all Saturdays to carry out service impacting works. This can be discussed further at interview and would be a mix of remote and onsite working.
